I love that my school is very intentional with celebrating and learning about other cultures. For Culture Night, we highlight cultures represented at our school through art, food, dancing, and music.

On the morning announcements, we also feature students throughout the year sharing how to say, “Hello! How are you?” in various languages.

For this project, the students could pick any country or tribe they wanted to learn about. We looked at colors, proportions, shapes, lines, and all of the elements that make up a certain country’s flag. Then we drew it in pencil and added color through markers or paint.

We added the name of the country as part of the art. Then we hung all of the flags throughout the school. It is interesting to me to learn more every year about various countries, and the students enjoy working on it.
