I dare you to take a look at these Kindergarten pumpkins and not fall in love with them! I got the idea from Patty Palmer’s Deep Space Sparkle lesson, Funny Face Pumpkin Project. Our pumpkins were made like hers but we used the Richeson solid tempera paint (hockey pucks) instead of liquid tempera paint, and then went over our pumpkin segment lines with black chalk pastel.
This is a great project that introduces a lot of important kindergarten art skills to build on: drawing, cutting, gluing, an introduction into color theory through color mixing, and emphasis. And did I mention they turn out adorable?
