4th grade Sugar Skull Paintings

This is Part 2 of our sugar skull art project. Part 1 was drawing the sugar skulls and learning about how to add sugar skull designs to our skulls and our drawing borders.

I was so thrilled with how the drawings looked without color (pencil, then thick and thin Sharpie over the pencil) that I was a little apprehensive about adding anything else to perfection. But I’m so glad we went for it with color!

Here are our completed sugar skull paintings inspired by sugar skulls from Mexico. I wish I could frame every one of them and display them in my house. 😍😍😍
