Per Wikipedia, Giuseppe Arcimboldo was an Italian painter best known for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely of objects such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, and books.
I remember learning about Arcimboldo in art history in college and being fascinated with his creativity to collage-style paint his portraits from so many different items that, when viewed together, created a complex portrait.
Life was tough in the 1500’s. If only Arcimboldo lived from 2010 – now, he could have traded in his hours of work in turpentine and oil paints for an iPad loaded with iMagine Machine app called Faces iMake.
Luckily, our 1st grade artists can create their own digital portraits on our iPads with ease. Here you go!
